Hot off the presses...

In honor of the third anniversary of the great John Prine’s April 2020 passing, Eileen has just released a GORGEOUS version of Storm Windows. Prine’s music has always inspired Eileen, and the song is a personal favorite, “John Prine songs have elements of humor, pathos, irony, protest, and social commentary that somehow manage to sound both personal and universal.” 

Eileen chose Storm Windows because she always loved the melody. After moving to Maine and living through the long cold winters, the lyrics resonate even deeper for her than they used to: I can hear the wheels of the automobiles so far away, moving along through the drifting snow. At times like these, when the temperatures freeze, I sit alone, just looking at the world through a storm window.  “I can’t think of a better way to convey the feeling of a slow, frozen afternoon in so few words,” Eileen muses. 

Stylistically, the beautiful studio performance of Storm Windows, may remind the listener of The Band. But for Eileen, what made the track extra special was the additional harmonica by the legendary Charlie McCoy. As Eileen remembers, “He was impressed with our version and was kind enough to add a harmonica solo. The result is sublime, a Prine song deserves no less than the great Charlie McCoy.”

The release of Storm Windows, also the first single from Eileen's new album is just one of a myriad of musical events swirling around Eileen Rose right now, including a EUROPEAN TOUR  beginning on May 17 with stops in Norway, Italy, and the UK
